Weekend College Tuition and Finances

Tuition Costs and Payments
Based on an estimated tuition rate of $340 per credit hour for the 2007-08 school year, the cost for three terms of Weekend College breaks down as follows:

Fall 2007
12 credit hours @ $340/credit hour: $4,080
Anticipated* VTAG Fall term: -$1,250
Tuition to be paid by student: $2,830

Spring 2008
12 credit hours @ $340/credit hour: $4,080
Anticipated* VTAG Fall term: -$1,250
Tuition to be paid by student: $2,830

Summer 2008
6 credit hours @ $340/credit hour: $2,040
VTAG is not awarded for Summer School $0
Tuition to be paid by student: $2,040

We anticipate a modest tuition increase for the 2008-09 academic year. That rate
has not yet been established. Visit the Student Accounts page for current and future tuition costs throughout your academic career.

* VTAG regulations state, "The exact amount of each academic year's award is determined by the funding amount appropriated by the General Assembly and the total number of eligible applicants. If funding is insufficient to fully award all students, it is possible that some students will receive no award (SCHEV Bulletin 11-20-00), or, that the full amount may be paid in the fall and a lesser amount, if any, in the spring. Grant requests must be processed by July 31 in order to incur a 'Category 2' priority for funding established for new students to the VTAG program." We’ve based this amount on awards made to our students during the 2006-07 school year.

Visit the Student Accounts page for details about accepted forms of payment, deadlines, and the University's payment plan for paying in installments: controller.richmond.edu/tuition/scs.htm

Financial Aid

Financial assistance, in the form of scholarships, grants, and loans, is available to Weekend College students of the School of Continuing Studies who need help with their educational expenses. Students must be enrolled in a degree or certificate program at Richmond and must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents.

Specific enrollment requirements and application processes vary depending on the aid program. Visit the University of Richmond Financial Aid Web site at oncampus.richmond.edu/financialaid/SCS.htm to learn more about available options.
