Weekend College

The Perfect Program for Working Professionals
Earn an interdisciplinary Bachelor of Liberal Arts degree from the University of Richmond in only two years.

Convenient and Flexible. In 2 years, students take 2 courses each Fall and Spring and 1 course each May term. Classes are held on Friday evenings and Saturdays, supplemented by weekly faculty-led online discussions. New students enter in the fall, organized into cohorts that proceed together through the program. Cohorts study at the University of Richmond's main campus [find it] or in the Abingdon, Danville, Fredericksburg, and Roanoke areas.

Valuable University Resources. Take advantage of the University of Richmond's extensive resources. Research our financial aid packages including scholarships, grants, and loans. And Virginia residents can take advantage of the Virginia Tuition Assistance Grant.

Challenging Curriculum. Take 1 of 10 six-hour, interdisciplinary, highly-concentrated courses at a time. Over 2 years, students will complete 5 courses each year for a total of 60 semester hours. Review the list of courses in the Evening School Catalog.

Admission Requirements

  • Qualified students must have completed 45-60 transferable credit hours from a regionally accredited institution.
  • Students entering with fewer than 60 credit hours that meet School of Continuing Studies criteria for the Bachelor of Liberal Arts will need to complete those requirements during the 2-year cycle if they plan to complete the program on schedule.
  • All applicants must have a review of transcripts and approval of transfer credit by a School of Continuing Studies advisor.
  • Students must meet School of Continuing Studies requirements for college-level composition.
  • Transferred credits must bear at least a 2.0 GPA.
  • All entrants must have an application on file.
  • We do not require an application fee, SAT or other entrance exam, or a foreign language.
