Questions of Conscience: Teaching about the Holocaust and Genocide
Teacher Education Institute is a 3-credit University of Richmond graduate course. The five-day course is designed to educate middle and high school teachers in Holocaust and genocide. It provides them with excellent tools necessary to teach such sensitive subjects to their students.
The course addresses many sections of the Virginia Standards of Learning for history, English, civics, economics, biology, art and music. Teachers will have the opportunity to delve into a wide range of topics, from the history of anti-Semitism and the rise of Hitler and the Nazis to defining genocide in the contemporary era. The course is taught by both classroom teachers and history professors.
Tuition, Room and Board
Tuition for the program includes the cost of textbooks and other educational resources.
- Without board: $75
- Dorm room at the University of Richmond with a departure date of Saturday, June 27, 2009, including three meals daily and the cost of textbooks: $510
- Dorm room at the University of Richmond with a departure date of Friday, June 26, including three meals daily and the cost of textbooks: $471
Transportation will be provided to the Museum daily for those who stay on the campus of the University of Richmond.
