The Writing Center provides individual writing tutoring to students in any course or academic discipline. Tutors, who have received special training, are available to help students at any stage of paper development from initial notes to final product. Papers may be in any form from hand-written to computer disk-generated. Tutors also provide advice on how to format a paper, use references and develop a bibliography. The Center also provides assistance to those wishing to improve their word processing skills, or to second language students with special needs.

Also available exclusively to SCS students is the Online Writing Lab (OWL), an online extension of the services provided by the Writing Center. Currently enrolled SCS students will have the OWL listed as one of their BlackBoard courses.
