Graduation

The School of Continuing Studies graduation is a Saturday morning ceremony held on Commencement weekend in early May. Students planning to complete bachelor degree, associate degree or certificate requirements in May or August must file a Degree Application form by the deadline date published on the academic calendar. Applications may be obtained from the dean's office. Attendance at the School of Continuing Studies Commencement is required unless absentia status is approved by the Registrar prior to commencement. Requests for absentia must be made in writing to the Registrar and received eight working days before the ceremony.

As part of the graduation ceremony, School of Continuing Studies students graduating in May and those anticipating graduation in August are recognized. The Distinguished Faculty Award and Distinguished Alumnus/ae Award are also conferred. Graduates may invite as many guests as they choose. A reception for the graduates and their families and friends follows.

Visit the University Commencement Web site for additional information.
