Fundraising and Development Certificate Program
Knowledge of current fundraising techniques and skills has become absolutely essential for nonprofit professionals. The Fundraising and Development program requires 10 courses, equaling 48 contact hours of instruction. The courses are divided into three categories. Students must complete 24 hours of required courses, 12 hours of core courses and 12 hours of elective courses to meet the certificate requirements.

- Three Nonprofit Board Development Series Classes* (totaling 6 hours)
- Development Programs - A Comprehensive Overview** (6 hours)
- The Annual Fund (6 hours)
Core Classes:
12 total hours - choose two:
- Capital Campaigns (6 hours)
- Major Gifts (6 hours)
- Planned Giving (6 hours)
Electives:
12 total hours - choose any electives from the IOP catalog
* Nonprofit Board Development Series topics are subject to change each year/semester to bring up to date information to our students.
** Students may substitute Philanthropy in the 21st Century, which was offered as part of our original certificate program.
