Enjoy your time at the University of Richmond while earning Continuing Education Units (CEUs). Weekend sessions offer a variety of topics for Au Pairs and are held at the University of Richmond campus, along with excursions to local museums and historical sites in the Richmond area. Au Pairs must attend all sessions, off-campus visits, and successfully complete course written assignments before the course and after the last session, in order to receive 3.0 CEUs and Certificates of Completion.
Note: Tuition includes class sessions, books and materials, four meals at the University of Richmond and entrance fees for off-campus excursions. If an Au Pair drives in a personal vehicle to the excursions, parking fees are paid for by the program.

This course will focus on what makes a public presentation successful and a speaker sound dynamic and enthusiastic. Students will identify key language and techniques used by effective speakers and will practice applying them to their own speech and integrating multimedia to enhance their speaking skills. Au Pairs must attend all sessions and successfully complete course written assignments before the course and after the last session in order to receive 3.0 CEUs and a Certificate of Completion.

This course will focus on English for Specific Purposes and will provide an opportunity to improve English speaking, writing, reading, and communication skills. Upon completion of this course students will earn a Certificate of Completion for the course, and 4 CEUs. Course fee includes books and materials.
Note: Minimum enrollment must be met in order for this class to be held. All students will be notified by September 18th regarding confirmation of the course.

This course will introduce students to various skills, tools, and media used in visual artistic expressions such as charcoal, graphite, colored pencil, oil, watercolor and acrylic paint. The course will cover subjects such as features and proportions in portraiture, still life and landscape drawing, shading, composition, brush strokes, etc. Students will have the opportunity to practice various techniques and media. Au Pairs must attend all sessions and successfully complete course written assignments before the course and after the last session in order to receive 3.0 CEUs and a Certificate of Completion.

Learn all of the skills needed to take the TOEFL-iBT (TOEFL internet based test). The goal of this course is to help you feel confident and well-prepared when taking the Internet-based TOEFL (iBT). You will learn language and computer skills needed for the exam, which will make you a better test-taker. In addition to these skills, you will be able to answer the types of questions in the reading, listening, speaking and writing parts of the test, as well as test-taking strategies for each section. There will be homework assignments in all language skill areas, including vocabulary.
Note: Upon successful completion of our course, students will receive a Certificate of Completion and 5.0 CEUs (Continuing Education Units.)
