On Saturday October 29th, despite the cold, 10 people
from SCS participated in the Heart Walk at Byrd Park
to raise money for the American Heart Association.
We raised about $1,338, with the overall UR total
around $2,887 to date, which is over half of our goal
of $5,000 (The goal was set last spring prior to the
three hurricanes.)
Ukrop's Golden Gift Campaign
You might have noticed recently when checking out
at Ukrop's that your grocery receipt is in yellow.
That means that the Golden Gift campaign is in progress.
But, it is operating under new guidelines.
In order to register for the Golden Gift Campaign,
you will need to register on their site: http://www.ukrops.com.
Just click on the "register here" link.
The campaign is being monitored by Benevolink. The
pages will continue you on through the process and
eventually you will be able to select the charity
of your choice (hopefully, the University of Richmond).
Starting October 1, every time you purchase items
from Ukrop's family of brands, a percentage of your
spending will be donated to the nonprofit organizations
of your choice. You'll earn automatically all year
long!
If you run into difficulties registering, please call
Benevolink at 1-800-556-4483.
