Earn an Degree in Liberal Arts

Undergraduate Degrees in Liberal Arts

Complete Your Degree in a Hurry. The School offers the Accelerated Bachelor of Liberal Arts (BLA) in Interdisciplinary Studies in its Weekend College program. Weekend College is an accelerated weekend program that enables you to complete your undergraduate degree in two years.

Complete Your Degree in Campus. The campus-based BLA degree takes advantage of the tremendous liberal arts and sciences assets of the University of Richmond in providing course work and academic experiences.

Earn a Degree or Certificate in Liberal Arts

Earn an Accelerated Bachelor of Liberal Arts (BLA) in Interdisciplinary Studies. The BLA requires a total of 120 undergraduate credit hours: at least 60 credit hours in transfer and another 60 hours through Weekend College.

Earn a Bachelor of Liberal Arts (BLA). The BLA requires 120 undergraduate credit hours and is offered on the University of Richmond campus.

Earn an Associate in Liberal Arts (ALA). The ALA requires 60 undergraduate credit hours and can be tailored toward earning a Bachelor of Applied Studies of Bachelor of Liberal Arts after completion.

Select a Focus Area in Liberal Arts. Focus areas enable on-campus BLA students to focus their academic efforts in a particular aspect of the liberal arts and sciences.

Eligibility Requirements

  • ALA and BLA degree applicants
    • High school diploma or GED
    • Completion of the undergraduate application
    • Submission of original transcripts from high school and college coursework
  • Weekend College BLA degree applicants
    • High school diploma or GED
    • Completion of the undergraduate application
    • Completion of at least 60 hours of tranferrable credit
    • Submission of original transcripts from all college coursework
