Graduate Degrees in Human Resource Management
Our graduate programs are designed to give students a deeper understanding of the traditional functions of Human Resources. Students will explore the theory, research, knowledge and procedures used by HR executives, generalists and specialists.
- Our Master of Human Resource Management (MHRM) curriculum requires 36 semester hours split between the six core courses and six focus courses and does not require a thesis. A maximum of six semester hours of transfer work may be accepted into this degree.
- Our Graduate Certificate in Human Resource Management is perfect for professionals who are exploring new career options in HR, HR professionals who are looking for professional development to expand their current knowledge, and individuals who want to explore graduate study but may not be ready to make a full commitment to our MHRM program.
Who Should Apply
Established HRM professionals, individuals who intend to become HRM professionals, and other managers who plan to supervise staff and need to comprehend the issues, policies and procedures involved in effectively managing people, all will find our graduate programs useful. HRM courses provide the theory, research, knowledge, and procedures used by HR executives, generalists, and specialists. The courses examine traditional functions such as recruitment and retention, development, compensation and benefits, plus emerging disciplines, such as human resource information systems and leadership theory. Workforce diversity, the impact of globalization, and other current issues are also included.
Admissions
Students applying to the graduate degree programs must have a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university as well as a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0 in all previous college work.
No other entrance exams are required. Applicants should submit the School of Continuing Studies Graduate Application
found online or in our printed catalog along with official transcripts from all previous colleges and universities directly to SCS.
Although we do not have admissions deadlines, we encourage you to submit your application and request your transcripts at least four to six weeks prior to the term you wish to begin. You may begin any of our programs in semester of your choice - spring, summer, or fall - we admit students year-round.
