Evening School Degrees

Earn a Master's Degree
The School of Continuing Studies offers two master's degree through the Evening School: the online Master of Disaster Science (MDS) and the Master of Human Resource Management (MHRM). All master's degrees are awarded by the University of Richmond.

Earn a Master of Disaster Science (MDS) - Professional Track without a thesis. The MDS - Professional requires 36 graduate credit hours. Courses are delivered in three major areas of knowledge: Context & Management, The Disaster Environment and Disaster Operations.

Earn a Master of Disaster Science (MDS) - Thesis Track that includes a thesis. The MDS - Thesis requires 30 graduate credit hours, which includes a 3-credit thesis course.

Earn a Master of Education (M.Ed.) in Curriculum and Instruction as a practicing classroom teacher. The M.Ed. require 30 graduate credit hours and is open to licensed practicing educators.

Earn a Master of Human Resource Management (MHRM). The MHRM requires 36 graduate credit hours, including 18 hours of Core coursework and 18 hours of 600-level coursework. No thesis is required for the MHRM.

Earn a Bachelor's Degree
The School of Continuing Studies offers two bachelor's degrees through the Evening School: the Bachelor of Applied Studies (BAS) and the Bachelor of Liberal Arts (BLA). All bachelor's degrees are awarded by the University of Richmond.

Earn a Bachelor of Applied Studies (BAS) in ESM. The BAS requires 123 undergraduate credit hours, including 30 hours of online course work in the ESM major. Students must select one of the three online ESM minors, which counts toward General Distribution requirements.

Earn a Bachelor of Applied Studies (BAS) in HRM. The BAS requires 120 undergraduate credit hours, including 30 hours in HRM and related coursework for the major.

Earn a Bachelor of Applied Studies (BAS) in ISYS or IT Management. Each BAS requires 120 undergraduate credit hours, including 30 hours in ISYS and related coursework for the major.

Earn an Accelerated Bachelor of Liberal Arts (BLA) in Interdisciplinary Studies. The BLA requires a total of 120 undergraduate credit hours: at least 60 credit hours in transfer and another 60 hours through Weekend College.

Earn a Bachelor of Liberal Arts (BLA). The BLA requires 120 undergraduate credit hours and is offered on the University of Richmond campus.

Earn a Bachelor of Applied Studies (BAS) in Paralegal Studies. The BAS requires 120 undergraduate credit hours, including 30 hours of Legal Assistant and Law courses in the major.

Earn an Associate Degree
The School of Continuing Studies offers one associate degree through the Evening School: the Associate of Liberal Arts. The asssociate degree is awarded by the University of Richmond.

Earn an Associate in Liberal Arts (ALA). The ALA requires 60 undergraduate credit hours and can be tailored toward earning a Bachelor of Applied Studies of Bachelor of Liberal Arts after completion.
