Partners in Education
The School of Continuing Studies partners with the following agencies, organizations, and resources in order to provide instructional tools and support for our students:
- A Moment in Time: Our own Daniel Roberts, Ph.D., director of the School of Continuing Studies Liberal Arts program of study, brings history to life in radio and television broadcasts across the country and around the world.
- Center for Leadership in Education: In partnership with the Jepson School of Leadership Studies, the Center acts on the link between education and leadership studies, aiming to infuse leadership studies in the K-12 education field.
- Institute of Reading Development: Summer reading classes taught by professional instructors from the Institute, which has been teaching these classes for 35 years.
- Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden: This significant Richmond landmark partners with the School of Continuing Studies to provide horticultural education as part of the School's Office of Community and Professional Education, including the Landscape Design Program.
- ReadyMinds: This online career counseling service works with SCS students and alumni, providing a convenient, dynamic, online confidential career counseling program to a limited number of students and alumni (first come, first serve) at no cost.
- Spanish Academy and Cultural Institute: Local organization dedicated to Spanish language and cultural education partners with the School's Office of Community and Professional Education to offer language classes and tailor-made bilingual courses for business and industry.
- URSchoolTech.com University Technology Partnership: Partners with the School of Continuing Studies to provide technology education and curriculum training for professional educators grades K-12. SCS and UR Libraries also provide a virtual library for School Technoogy Programs clients.
